MINTY PRIVACY POLICY ==================== Last updated: 15 October 2026 Minty is a voice logger for food, exercise, body weight, how you feel, and supplements. It is built so that your data stays on your iPhone unless you choose to sync it. What stays on your iPhone ------------------------- • Audio. Minty listens only while you are logging. Speech is transcribed on the device by Apple's speech framework. Recordings are never stored and never leave your iPhone. • Your log. Everything you log is stored in the app on your iPhone. Unless you turn on sync (below), there is no Minty server that holds your log. • Apple Health. If you allow it, Minty writes the weight, workouts, and meals you log to Apple Health and reads your latest weight to check new weigh-ins and estimate calories burned. Whether Health syncs through iCloud is your system setting. Minty never writes transcripts to Health. • Understanding what you said. Without an account, Minty uses Apple's on-device model to understand what you said. Nothing is sent anywhere. What can leave your iPhone, and when ------------------------------------ • Food lookups (optional, on by default). When a food you log is not in Minty's built-in table, Minty sends the food's name, and nothing else, to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's FoodData Central service to get nutrition data. Turn this off in Settings → Nutrition. • Cloud parsing (only if you sign in and agree). You can sign in with Apple or Google and agree to let a cloud AI model understand what you say. Then the text of each log (what you said or typed, after transcription) is sent through Minty's server to that model and the result comes back. The consent screen names the model in use. The model provider's own policy applies to the text while it processes it. Minty's server stores: – your account (the identifier and email from Apple or Google), which terms you accepted and when, and how many requests you have made (to apply limits); – "Oops" reports you choose to send, which include the text of that log and what the parser returned, kept for 90 days; – the model's nutrition estimate for each food it parsed (the food's name as spoken and its numbers), with no link to your account or to the rest of the sentence. This lets us check the model's numbers and improve them for everyone. Minty's server never stores your audio. Without sync it never stores your log either. You can turn cloud parsing off at any time in Account, keep using the app on-device, sign out, or delete your account, which deletes everything the server holds for it. • Connecting other apps (only on the paid tier). You can let an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, and others) use Minty on your behalf. You sign in and approve each app on a Minty consent page; after that the app can read your entries and add, change and delete them, exactly as you could. What you say to that assistant is handled under its provider's policy, not ours. To take an app's access away, sign out of Minty on all devices or delete your account; a screen to revoke one app at a time is planned. • Sync (only on the paid tier, when you sign in). With Minty Plus your log is kept in your account so that your iPhones and iPads stay in step and you can use Minty from other apps you authorize. The server then also stores your log: your entries, saved meals and routines, and the text of what you said or typed for each one, with the times. It is encrypted at rest, readable only by you and the apps you authorize, never used for analytics or to train models, and deleted when you delete your account or use "Delete all data". Signing out leaves the copy in your account; deleting the account removes it. What Minty does not do ---------------------- • No analytics or tracking. No advertising identifiers. No third-party SDKs that see your data. • No selling or sharing of your data. Your controls ------------- • Export your log as CSV or JSON from Settings. • Delete all data from Settings, which also removes the Apple Health samples Minty wrote and, if you sync, the copy in your account and on your other devices. • Delete your account from Account, which deletes everything the server holds for it, including the synced copy of your log. Children -------- Minty is not directed at children under 13. Contact ------- Questions about this policy: the developer's contact listed on the App Store page. Changes ------- If this policy changes, the date above will change and, where the change affects cloud parsing, the app will ask you to agree again before using it.
